Why are so many people the world over so pessimistic about humanity’s future? (insert linmk to posting about Pew Research). Our socio-economic system, capitalism, thrives on the notion that things will always get better. That the future is bright and that our children and our children’s children will live lives that are better, more fulfilling, and happier than our own. .
When did things begin to turn? More importantly, why? It makes no sense! Being alive is the most epic gift literally bestowed upon us by the stars of our universe. Being alive is literally and mathematically a miracle of the highest order. And sentient life, not merely being alive, but being aware, thinking, emoting, interacting, creating, and feeling is orders of magnitude even more miraculous.(link to blog post about the miracle of being alive),
So, how is it that we are fucking this all up so colossally?
Friends, say hello to TheRootCause, an open, worldwide community dedicated to turning the tide and to renewing hope for a better future for all. I for one, am committed to turning things around. I have decided to dedicate the rest of my days helping wherever, whenever, and however I can. My hope is that anyone and everyone who reads this might join me in this mission for this is truly the mission of our lives. We are standing on the proverbial precipice of the abyss. I have four beautiful children, a wife, family, many friends, and far too much respect for everyone else to ever let that happen. We will not step over the edge, and I hope and pray that you - and everyone and anyone who reads these words - will join me in my quest to effectuate positive, rapid change in our world.
